We are looking for an energetic individual to contribute to the smooth running of our busy office and support the teams administering applications and renewal of licences for farmers and food manufacturers.

Ideal applicants will have office experience, but enthusiasm and willingness to learn is more important. Familiarity with a variety of IT packages, including data entry, will be an advantage, but full training will be given.

Business Development Administrator

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the work of the Business Development team - everything from arranging meetings, co-ordinating mailings, collating the market research results to issuing application packs.

The successful applicant will be educated to A level, with a strong customer service focus and an organised approach to work. You will need office experience with a range of IT systems, and ideally an understanding of organic food and farming systems.

Food for Life positions

Big Lottery Fund logoIf you share our enthusiasm for improving school meals and the availability of local and organic food in communities, then we would love to hear from you!

Do you want to be involved in an exciting programme that plans to transform schools and community food culture across England? The Food for Life (FFL) partnership is a 5-year £multi-million programme funded by the Big Lottery Fund. Led by the Soil Association and consisting of the Focus on Food Campaign, Garden Organic and the Health Education Trust, it will work in 20 flagship schools in diverse communities in each of the English regions, to increase their knowledge and consumption of healthy and sustainable food.

Food policy development and staff training in schools will support improvement to school meals and school food culture. Further support for FFL schools and communities will come from the FFL Cooking Bus, organic vegetable gardening and visiting organic farms. The programme will bring farmers and caterers closer together to increase the availability of organic and local food in school meals and the wider community.

School Meals Policy Advisor
Self-employed

The Food for Life partnership programme is seeking an experienced consultant to offer catering advice on school meals and other catering establishments. You will be experienced at dealing with the media, able to develop and deliver training and support to school cooks, as well as providing policy advice to the Soil Association and other national, regional and local organisations. First hand knowledge of school meals is essential, as is a demonstrable commitment to increasing healthy and sustainable food entering into school meals.

You must be willing to travel throughout England, working a minimum of 80 days per annum. Work will be irregular but approximately 1.5 days per week.
