Summary

The Children's Fund was introduced in 2001 in response to government policy which highlighted the need for improved services to prevent the negative effects of child poverty and reduce the risk of social exclusion. Between September 2002 and March 2003, 18 first wave fund partnerships were inspected. This report covers a further eight partnerships, mostly from the second wave.
