Why ICAD?
The name Central Data Management Authority (CDMA) no longer represented the organisation’s remit. So to reflect its new direction and purpose it has been renamed The Information Coherence Authority for Defence (ICAD).

The Controlled Values Repository (CVR) will be a web-based service that allows access to one or more repositories containing, or pointing to, authoritative sources of taxonomy, data definitions, and corporate reference information that is used by more than one MOD organisation. The CVR will be underpinned by strong governance and policy (JSP 329 & JSP 600). New and legacy systems will be mandated to adopt or migrate to the corporate standards.
