Para 3.2 – Defra to keep members informed of progress on new air quality Directive – Update: ongoing/update provided in meeting.

Para 6.2 – Inform the group of final national indicator set. Update: Actioned, with further details on the draft emissions tool for PM10 and NOx (and CO2) circulated to the group. See www.defra.gov.uk/environment/airquality/local/indicator.htm

Para 7.2 – Defra (Rob Arnold) to discuss with DfT implications of biofuels for NOx levels. Update: ongoing discussions with DfT.

DfT (James Harries) to check that higher levels of primary NO2 from newer diesel-engine vehicles would be taken into account in his analysis of air quality impacts of different new car CO2 targets. Update: in meeting.
