Looking after your business

Whether you are just starting in business, are new to health and safety or are already set up and looking to measure and improve your health and safety performance, these pages are for you.

Managing health and safety is an important part of looking after your business. All employers are required by law to control health and safety risks.

These pages are for all business managers, whether you're just getting started or want to see how improving health and safety can help you look after your business.

In large organisations and small firms, managing risks is not only about legislation. Effective health and safety contributes to corporate social responsibility. It can bring real business benefits too. It doesn’t need to be expensive or complicated, but it does need planning and leadership. Business leaders, boards and directors have responsibilities as well as managers. Workers, too, need to look after their own health and safety and that of their colleagues.
