If you are interested in a career as a Weapon Engineering Officer, Marine Engineering Officer or Air Engineer Officer and already hold an accredited engineering degree you may be eligible for a Golden Hello of up to £12,000.
This is available to entrants who have not received a previous Armed Forces bursary, but includes those who commit to a 1 or 2 year bursary. Candidates need not necessarily have just graduated, as long as they meet the usual criteria for entry to BRN.

If you are interested in any career in the Submarine Service, you may be eligible for a Golden Hello of up to £5,000, payable from the awarding of 'Dolphins' at the end of submarine training.You would also qualify for specialist Submariners' pay. This is also payable from the awarding of 'Dolphins', and starts at £10.91 per day at initial rate, increasing to £19.09 per day at a top rate after 15 years.*

Aircrew officers qualify for specialist flying pay. This is payable from the awarding of 'Wings' at the end of flying training and starts at £12.54 a day at initial rate, increasing to £33.81 per day at top rate after 8 years.*

On completion of Initial Hydrographic Training, you will be eligible for specialist pay at a rate of £1.64 per day, with the rate of specialist pay increasing with rank up to a rate of £8.18 per day for Chief Petty Officers or £12.00 per day on attaining Charge qualification.*

Mine Clearance Divers earn specialist diving pay from the end of their Initial Diver Training. This starts at a rate of £3.82 per day, and increases with promotion up to £29.45 per day as a Petty Officer (Diver) and above.*
