Lord Justice Scott Baker has been appointed as Assistant Deputy Coroner for Inner West London for the purposes of hearing the Inquests into the deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and Emad El-Din Mohamed Abdel Moneim Fayed (Mr Dodi Al Fayed).

The purpose of this website is to keep the public informed of details relating to the Inquests, including transcripts of the proceedings and evidence seen by the jury.

The Inquest hearings started on 2 October 2007 at the Royal Courts of Justice.


Hearing Transcripts and evidence seen by the inquest jury in open court will be published on this website on a daily basis. The Assistant Deputy Coroner has issued guidance on the reproduction of this information.

The Coroner has stated:

“In my judgment it is not expedient to call the Duke of Edinburgh to give evidence, nor do I think The Queen should be asked to answer the questions by Michael Mansfield. Neither step will in my judgment further the inquest process.”
