Introduction
Defra sponsors the Covent Garden Market Authority (CGMA), the publicly owned company which operates the New Covent Garden wholesale fruit, vegetable and flower market at Nine Elms in Battersea, London.
Redevelopment project - Project Chrysalis
CGMA are currently undertaking a project which will lead to the redevelopment of the Nine Elms site and the market’s accomodation. Consultation has been undertaken with the tenants at the market as to their requirements and work is now being done on concept plans before deciding on the next steps.
PricewaterhouseCoopers report
In June 2005, PricewaterhouseCoopers was appointed to advise on the future
development of New Covent Garden Market and its site at Nine Elms. The Executive summary
