These schemes are concerned with delivering more customer-focused, competitive but sustainable food and farming. Select schemes that interest you, to read more.
The overall programme contributes to delivering the Sustainable Farming and Food Strategy objectives (to create a more market driven and economically sustainable sector). It supports Defra’s Public Service Agreement 5 objectives.

| Energy Crops Scheme | Grants to establish short-rotation coppice (SRC) or miscanthus; and helps SRC growers set up producer groups. |

| Farm Waste Grant Scheme | Scheme now closed; helped farmers in Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZs) install or improve farm waste facilities. |
| Higher-Level Stewardship | Part of Environmental Stewardship |
| Hill Farm Allowance | Supports beef and sheep producers farming in the English Less Favoured Areas (LFAs). |
| Processing and Marketing Grant | Scheme now closed to new applicants - Grants for capital investment in processing and marketing agricultural products. |
| Rural Enterprise Scheme | Scheme now closed to new applicants - Supports projects aiming to develop more sustainable, diversified and enterprising rural economies and communities. |
| Sheep and Wildlife Enhancement Scheme | Scheme now closed as a result of CAP Reforms. |

| Vocational Training Scheme | Scheme now closed to new applicants - Funds vocational (ie a person’s occupation or work) training for those engaged in farming or forestry |
