Introduction
Welcome to the joint Defra and Environment Agency flood and coastal erosion risk management research and development programme. We have recently redesigned our webpages and would welcome your feedback.
The aims of the Joint Programme are to:
- address the needs of all flood and coastal defence authorities
- help inform policy development
- ensure that flood and coastal erosion risk management measures are delivered in a technically and environmentally sound and cost-effective manner
- bridge the gap between work carried out by others (basic scientific research) and the development of operational systems.
Outputs from our research take the form of research reports and papers to conferences, seminars and scientific journals. For guidance on how to obtain reports, visit our published research page.
Further information about both organisations research programmes may be found by searching their respective Science pages; EA Science, Defra Science.
