Consultation on: Implementation of the right to apply for orders to extinguish and divert public rights of way, and associated rights of appeal
This consultation invites views on a proposed approach to implementing a new statutory right of application to local authorities and national park authorities, for orders to extinguish or divert public rights of way.
The new rights, which are intended to benefit certain categories of landowner/occupier/lessee and school proprietors are contained in the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000.
The deadline for responses is 31 August 2007.
