DIPLOMATIC SERVICE FAMILIES ASSOCIATION

Diplomatic Service Families Association
Informing, assisting and campaigning on behalf of UK diplomatic families worldwide

Welcome to the Diplomatic Service Families Association (DSFA) homepage. These pages are designed specifically for the spouses, partners and families of serving Diplomatic Service officers and single parent DS officers.

The diplomatic service lifestyle is often complicated when you need to travel with your family. Education, employment, health matters loom large and it is difficult to know where to find the right information. The DSFA is here to help and to advocate on your behalf. We have a team of advisers who handle a wide range of subjects and can discuss with you the problems you face. Wherever you are in the world, and in times of transition, you can contact us for:
  • Employment and training advice for spouses and partners, free employment seminars and funding for career training
  • Advice on choices and quandaries in organising your children's education, including those with special needs
  • Advice where a family member has a disability
  • Advice on issues affecting foreign-born spouses/partners
  • Advice and support on a range of welfare matters
  • Information on living conditions, employment prospects and education choices for all of the FCO's posts worldwide
At many posts, the welfare of staff and families is looked after by a member of staff called a Community Liaison Officer (CLO). But even to members in far-flung small postings without CLOs, the DSFA is only a phone call or an e-mail away, and we are here for you.

We wish you every success with the journey before you. Please use our resources to help make your decisions and contact us or drop in if you have any queries.
