BERR is responsible for implementing the nuclear elements of the UK Government’s Global Threat Reduction Programme.
The Programme is aimed at reducing the risk of proliferation of weapons or materials of mass destruction through the establishment of cooperative threat reduction projects with key partner nations.
The Global Threat Reduction WebPages moved from this location on August 9th 2007 to a new Non - Proliferation Section of the Energy Website that incorporates sections on the Departments programmes that deal with Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Weapons.
The intention is to put our work in context and provide a more comprehensive view of this important area of work for the Department.
