Whether shopping and trading traditionally, or nationally and internationally on the Internet, we want to ensure consumers can rely on better service, safer products, and fair advertising, marketing and pricing. This requires effective enforcement of consumer standards - which will not only protect the consumer, but also strengthen British business.
The Confident Consumers section of the DTI web site provides information on a wide variety of consumer policy subjects and explains how we have strengthened safeguards for consumers in many areas, including e-commerce. We also cover trading standards, product safety, consumer credit and finance, consumer complaints and ways of resolving disputes.
