Publication of Public Expenditure Statistical Analyses 2007

The 2007 edition of Public Expenditure Statistical Analyses (PESA) is published today as a Command Paper (Cm 7091). PESA is an annual compendium of statistical data on public expenditure, covering both outturns and plans.

Also published today are two supplementary technical notes on changes to the public expenditure by function series and the country and regional analysis methodology in PESA 2007. In addition a consultation on the separate First Release of the National Statistics in PESA from PESA 2008 is being launched.

1. The last edition of PESA 2006 (Cm 6811) was published in May 2006.

2. The release of data for this publication notice has followed the National Statistics Code of Practice and Protocol of Release Practices. National Statistics in PESA are released in accordance with the Treasury's statement of compliance with the Code's protocol on release practices.
