The New TrustMark Initiative for the Repair, Maintenance and Improvement Sector
Working with industry and consumer organisations, DTI has developed the TrustMark initiative for the domestic repair, maintenance and improvement sector. The aim is to raise standards and empower consumers by providing them with a mechanism to identify reputable firms that meet a set of competence and customer-care standards.
Schemes that deliver the agreed standards are approved to use the TrustMark brand by TrustMark Ltd, a non-profit company limited by guarantee. The Board of TrustMark Ltd comprises an equal number of industry and consumer representatives. DTI sits on the Board as an observer. It retains ownership of the brand, which it licenses to TrustMark Ltd.
TrustMark was launched to consumers on 30 January 2006. For more information about the initiative see the website at: www.trustmark.org.uk
The TrustMark replaces the Quality Mark scheme which closed on 31 December 2004. If you have a complaint about a job undertaken by a Quality Mark firm you should phone 0845 300 80 40.
