Covering two Strategic Health Authorities (SHAs) NHS North West and NHS West Midlands, and with a population of over 12 million the North West & West Midlands (NWWM) Cluster comprisies the counties of Cumbria, Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside, Staffordshire, Shropshire, West Midlands, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

use warfarin, has won an award sponsored by NHS Connecting for Health.

Haematology manager Nigel Humble and senior biomedical scientist Lisa Jones, from Blackpool Victoria Hospital, took first prize in the section for innovative use of IT at the Allied Health Professionals and Health Scientists Awards 2006.
