Treasury appointments

The Chancellor has appointed Dan Corry as Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, advising the Chancellor on long-term policy development.

Notes to editors

1. The Council of Economic Advisers was created in August 1997 (Treasury PN 99 and PN 97 ). It is made up of individual policy experts who bring their specialist advice to work alongside Treasury teams on the Government’s key policy priorities.
2. Dan Corry will start at the Treasury on 17 July, moving from his current post as special adviser to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. Dan was previously special adviser to the Secretary of State for Education.
