The Better Regulation Executive is consulting on proposals to revise the Regulatory Impact Assessment process and has published 'The Tools to Deliver Better Regulation - Revising the Regulatory Impact Assessment: A Consultation'. The proposed revisions aim to increase the transparency of Impact Assessments so that the costs and benefits of new proposals are clearer and updated throughout the policy making cycle.
The Government has asked Neil Davidson QC to conduct a review of the implementation of EU legislation. The review has published a summary of responses to its call for evidence.
The Legislative & Regulatory Reform Bill aims to make it quicker and easier to tackle unnecessary or over-complicated regulation and help bring about a risk-based approach to regulation. The Bill was read a second time in the House of Lords on Tuesday 13 June 2006.
