Who are we?

The NIBSC CJD Resource Centre was established with UK Department of Health (UKDoH) and World Health Organisation (WHO) support to develop, characterise and produce reference materials for CJD diagnostic assays and to facilitate research into CJD.

We are a collaboration between the Divisions of Virology and Haematology and are located in a purpose built facility on the NIBSC site.

We work closely with the WHO and the working group on international reference materials for diagnosis and study of transmissible spongiform encephalopathies.
