This
is a joint project between Scottish Natural Heritage, the Botanical
Society of the British Isles and Plantlife Scotland. Find out more here...
The Lesser Butterfly Orchid is a very attractive, beautifully-scented plant, occuring in a wide range of habitats. It has suffered a 33% decline throughout Great Britain, whilst Scotland has been less badly affected. This project aims at recording where the remaining populations are, and what management is being undertaken to help their continued survival. We hope that by getting people involved at a local level throughout Scotland, and particularly in the west where the plant is more abundant, that we will be able to safeguard its future.
