9 June 2006: Child protection competencies defined for all health service staff

In response to the recommendation set out in second Chief Inspectors’ report: Making Safeguarding Everyone’s Business, the RCPCH, RCN, RCM, AMICUS-CPHVA and RCGP, backed by the Department of Health, have launched a framework of skills, competencies and role descriptions to support the safeguarding of children and young people.



National Service Framework for children, young people and maternity services

The Children’s NSF, published on 15 September 2004, sets standards for children’s health and social services, and the interface of those services with education. This section is intended to provide information on the development of the NSF.



The Children's Health and Maternity Services E-bulletin

The Child Health and Maternity Team produce a monthly E-bulletin for internal and external stakeholder groups designed to provide them with regular updates on activities that are supporting the delivery of the Be Healthy outcome for children, young people and families through the Every Child Matters: Change for Children agenda.
