News Releases pre June 2001
News Releases issued on Environmental Protection issues, by the then
Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR) prior
to the General Election in June 2001, have not been transferred to the
Defra web site, and in general, remained available on the web site of
the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions (DTLR).
Because of changes to the DTLR web site, the web site addresses of news
releases were all changed, and news releases prior to November 1999 are
only available via the Government News Network site. You should therefore
consult the following sites:

Note: Whilst DTLR's functions were transferred, on 29 May 2002, to
the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Department for Transport,
DTLR information is being retained at the www.dtlr.gov.uk
web site.
