Access to information: guidance provided to staff

Defra has set up a network of local Information Management Representatives (IMRs) in each business area to promote good information management practices, raise awareness and provide guidance on the access to information legislation.

A range of information and guidance has been issued to staff to help them deal with requests efficiently in accordance with the legislation. This includes:

• Guidance letters on how to deal with requests for information - updated April 2005
