G8 logoPresidency of the G8

The Presidency of the G8 rotates between the G8 countries with each country assuming the chair for a period of 12 months.

The UK holds the Presidency of the G8 from January - December 2005 and will focus on two main themes - Africa and climate change.

UK Presidency of EU logoPresidency of the EU

The Presidency of the EU rotates between EU member states with each country assuming the chair for a period of six months.

The UK holds the EU Presidency from July - December 2005.
