Consultation on the review of the Air Quality Strategy – options for further improvements in air quality

We are seeking views on potential additional new policy measures which, if implemented, could secure further improvement in air quality and move us closer to achieving the Strategy’s air quality objectives.

We are also seeking comments on the Strategy’s current objectives for air pollutants and an option for a new policy framework and a new provisional objective for controlling particulate matter.

The consultation document also sets an agenda for longer term action to improve our understanding of air pollutants and attempts to qualitatively assess the potential for further air quality improvements in the very long term.

The deadline for response is Tuesday 11 July 2006.
