Middle East Crisis - 20th July 2006
The DEC Agencies met on Wednesday 19th to review the deteriorating situation in the conflict affected areas of the Middle East. Many of the DEC Members are already at work either directly or through partners bringing badly needed food and non food items to those displaced by the fighting.

The Member agencies will continue to monitor the crisis and where possible scale up their response. The DEC will review the need for a national appeal against its key criteria of whether there is the likelihood of substantial unmet need and the ability of its members to reach and help the affected populations in a timely and effective manner.

If Members of the public want to help they can contact the DEC members direct, many of whom are asking their supporters for additional funds.
