Cleaner Fossil Fuels; Hydrogen; Fuel Cells; and Distributed Generation can all be said to be low carbon energy technologies.
Whilst not renewable, these technologies offer significant potential to meet the UK's environmental and economic policy objectives
over the medium - long term.
Whilst for some of these technologies mass deployment/commercialisation may appear to be some time away the Government is
taking action now to enable the development of these technologies. Development, demonstration and ultimately deployment of
these technologies will help realise the Government's target of 60% reduction of CO2 emissions by 2050.
