FOREIGN SECRETARY TO APPOINT A SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE ON CLIMATE CHANGE
The Foreign Secretary, Margaret Beckett, has announced that she would be appointing a Special Representative on Climate Change. Mrs Beckett said the Special Representative will work with key international partners and government colleagues and will help to take forward the Gleneagles Dialogue on Climate Change, Clean Energy and Sustainable Development.
HOON ON FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE EVENTS IN ANDIZHAN, UZBEKISTAN
Speaking on the first anniversary of the events in Andizhan, Uzbekistan, Minister for Europe Geoff Hoon said, 'Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who died in the tragic events which took place in Andijan, Uzbekistan, one year ago on 12-13 May 2005'.

The Minister for Europe has launched a new 'Britain in the EU' section of the FCO website, and a Guide to the EU. Both will be valuable resources on UK EU policy and the debate on the future direction of the EU.
