  • After three weeks of drinking rum in the sun it was time to move the party North. Rio De Janeiro is one of those places that deserves the title “port of the world”. One weeks work for two weeks R&R is a good ratio in any ones book. You may now be asking what you missed.

You try the remote, but no response and to make matters worse you’ve just heard a horrible grinding noise coming from the washing machine in the kitchen. Well its time to call someone in to fix all these electrical problems.

    Last Autumn, First Officer Tim Alderson was enjoying some leave. He was raking the leaves in his garden, appreciating the browns and purples the season brings to the fauna, Tim poured some cocoa from his tartan flask and with a smile, listened to the songs of the goldfinches and woodpeckers. Then...... a telephone call.....
  • RFA Sir Galahad made her final voyage under the Royal Fleet Auxiliary’s flag into Portsmouth Harbour on 20 July.
  • Royal Fleet Auxiliary Fort Victoria is currently off the coast of Israel and Lebanon as part of a UK task force sent to assist the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in removing UK nationals and other personnel from the rapidly deteriorating situation in the region.
  • The period between April when we originally left South Africa through to our return in late June was very busy. During this time the ship steamed 9662 miles, spent 47 days at sea, visited Goa in India, participated in a multi-national Naval exercise as well as entering dry dock in East London
