More than 16,000 Londoners will benefit from the Learning and Skills Council ESF 'Pan London 2' programme launched on 23 January by James Plaskitt, the Work and Pensions Minister with responsibility for ESF - pictured far right.
The programme will distribute £35 million of ESF to support employment and skills projects across the capital. One of the key priorities for the programme is to improve the prospects of unemployed and inactive people - by creating opportunities for training and employment.
James Plaskitt said "This programme will have a huge impact on Londoners' lives, giving people chances they may not otherwise have had - which in turn will strengthen communities and give job opportunities to more people. Projects developed as a result of this funding will provide the potential for people to obtain qualifications to find a job. This investment by ESF supports the Government's strategy to achieve employment opportunity for all."
