General Information Assurance Products and Services Initiative (GIPSI)
What is GIPSI?
The General Information Assurance Products and Services Initiative (GIPSI) is chaired by CSIA and brings together representatives from central and local Government, NHS, Criminal Justice Network, Industry, Commerce and Academia.
The responsibilities of GIPSI include:
- Facilitating the implementation of the UK Government strategy for IA (low assurance levels)
- Defining, capturing and promoting the public sector requirements for information assurance schemes and establishing the means to ensure that those requirements are met
- Monitoring (and where relevant seeking to influence) international IA schemes and standards
- Overseeing the work of CIPCOG; the Defence INFOSEC Product Co-Operation Group (DIPCOG [External website]); and the Scottish Information Assurance Forum (SIAF)
The membership of GIPSI is reviewed on an annual basis and currently includes the following organisations:
