The e-Delivery Team (EDT) is directly accountable to Ian Watmore and ultimately the Prime Minister. The team is taking forward the Government Gateway which provides Authentication, Transaction routing and reliable messaging. EDT focuses on delivery and technology innovation in providing the products and services to both central and local government that will enable the internet to become the primary channel for interaction with government. EDT is developing a common e-government infrastructure to ensure economies of scale benefits to departments, the provision of best of breed technologies and an increased speed to market for quality government web services, both for departments and end users.
