New local transport Centres for Excellence announced

The Department for Transport will provide £100,000 a year to 17 new Centres of Excellence. The grants will support them in providing peer-led activities for transport planning and delivery for local authorities.

Change to seatbelt law for delivery drivers

From 1 March, drivers and passengers travelling in vehicles carrying goods must belt up if they travel over 50 metres. An estimated 20 deaths a year could be prevented if people in delivery vans used their belts to the same extent as people in cars.
