CHI is reviewing clinical governance in all of the ambulance services in England & Wales. The reviews, based on the same model as reviews of all other organisations, consider how clinical governance relates to emergency and patient transport services.
Reviews of ambulance trusts began in early 2002 and the first three reviews were evaluated. CHI has now completed reviews of most ambulance trusts and is preparing a report on the national, emerging themes in ambulance services. These findings will be reported to the services to support further development.
