Inside UK Enterprise
Brief description:
Inside UK Enterprise (IUKE)
aims to improve the competitive performance of UK companies,
through a programme of one-day visits to "host" companies.
Over 170 "host" companies from a range of industry sectors,
including manufacturing and service, openly share their
experiences and facilitate a business to business exchange
of information on best practice. The IUKE programme allows
visitors to experience "hands-on" new techniques and innovations
and identify ways of improving their business performance
through the exchange of ideas.
This transfer method of sharing best practice has proved
to be so effective that Inside UK Enterprise now operates
a scheme for the Construction Industry funded by the Department
of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR). It
has also been adopted by DETR for sharing best practice
in its Beacon Councils scheme and by the NHS Executive for
its major Beacons initiative to spread best practice throughout
the Health Service.
Inside UK Enterprise Limited were appointed to run the
IUKE programme on behalf of the DTI. Companies can access
IUKE on a self help basis, as part of a sectoral initiative
or through the business support service provided by Business
Link. Host companies can be selected by best practice topic
or geographical location from the IUKE brochure which also
offers forward dates for booking visits.
