Finding your way around
The information on this website is divided into
the topics shown on the left hand side of this page: Management, Operations,
Sales & marketing, People, Innovation, Communications, Technology,
What else is on offer?. Each of these topics has sub-section. By clicking
on a topic and then a sub-section you’ll be shown the range of
documents, tools, links and files that we have on that subject.
Opening documents and files
Because this site contains a lot of information
in a variety of formats, we decided to present the information as downloadable
files, rather than web pages that you can scroll through. This means
that you will be able to open, save or print the documents and then
read them immediately or review them at your leisure.
To read a document, use a tool, follow a link or
open a video or audio clip, click on the icon beneath the summary of
the file you are interested in.
The guides and case studies are stored as documents
in Microsoft Word and PDF format. The audio and video clips are presented
in a variety of formats.
Saving documents and files
If you have a document or file open, you should
be able to save it by going to the File menu in your browser and then
selecting Save. If you want to save a document or file without opening
it first, right click on the link and the select Save Target As.
Returning to a page
Each page has a ‘breadcrumb trail’ at
the top below the red horizontal navigation bar. This shows you which
page you are on and which section of the website it is in. For example,
if the ‘breadcrumb trail’ showed:
You would be on the Benchmarking page in the Management
section. You can then click on Achieving best practice or Management
to return to those pages.
