Renewables advisory board
Introduction
The Renewables Advisory Board is an independent non-departmental
public body sponsored by DTI, which provides advice to Government
on a wide range of renewable energy issues on request and
may also offer other such advice to the Government, as it
considers appropriate. The Board will bring together Government
departments, the renewables industry and the unions to develop
mutual understanding of the key issues for the industry both
short term and over the next twenty years, including for example,
technology development, barriers to market penetration and
export enhancement.
The Board is chaired by
the Minister for Energy and Construction at the DTI. Eleven members,
including the Chairman, are drawn from Government departments.
The other members of the Board have been selected
from all sectors of the renewables industry.
