Scottish Institute of Sport

Set up by sportscotland in 1998, the Scottish Institute of Sport is committed to creating winners.  Already athletes from diverse sports including athletics, badminton, curling, hockey, cycling, judo, alpine skiing, rowing, rugby, swimming and football have been selected to benefit from high quality programmes and services tailored to their individual needs.

This includes Athlete Career and Education (ACE UK), world class coaching, sports medicine and sports science support.

The Scottish Institute of Sport is supported by six Area Institutes of Sport, comprising networks of people, facilities and services, have now been set up.  The aim of the Area Institute network is to help identify and develop talented young athletes in their local area, providing them with individually tailored programmes designed to help them develop as world class athletes.
