WORKING
PARENTS
The
Government is committed to helping working parents in ways that enhance business
efficiency. New laws introduced on 6 April 2003 provide parents with more opportunities than ever
before to balance their work and childcare responsibilities to the benefit of
employers, employees and their children.
On 5 April 2004 the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry announced that the
Government is opening a debate with parents and employers to hear directly from
them about their experience of balancing work and family life.
