DTI's Innovation Group is responsible for policy on innovation,
sustainable development, product standards, environmental protection,
resource productivity and corporate social responsibility. Bringing
these responsibilities together will help ensure policy on innovation,
environment and sustainable development are mutually reinforcing.
Within the Innovation Group, Sustainable Development Directorate
works to:
- Integrate sustainable development into DTI's policies and
operational activities
- Secure a flexible, outcome based approach to developing and
implementing UK, European and wider international environmental
objectives and regulations
- Encourage the development and business take-up of sustainable
technologies and environmental best practice
