A CHARTER FOR PARTNERSHIP: DESO SUPPORT FOR UK SMALL BUSINESSES

UK small businesses make a vital contribution to our defence industrial base and to defence exports. DESO is committed to improving the service it gives to small companies and the first step, taken in April 2003, established a Small Business Unit – a single focus for all small business-related DESO activity.

The next stage of the process is to establish a closer business relationship between DESO and small businesses. The basis for this is set out in a “Charter”, launched recently by HDES. The Charter aims to encourage small and medium sized UK defence companies to engage with DESO on a more formal footing. This will allow us to provide more detailed and focused support than before while, at the same time, collecting a range of statistical data and information (on a strictly “in-confidence” basis) that will help to identify future markets and contribute to the greater benefit of UK plc.

A copy of the Charter can be read and downloaded from the DESO Partners section.Prtners exclusive material

DESO does not wish to be too prescriptive in its definition of a small business. We are fully prepared to assist anyone who seeks our help.

“Signing up” to the Charter is entirely free and simple to do. Just send an email, with company details and point of contact, to any of the small business team listed on the Charter. Let us know that your company is willing to work with DESO under the terms of the Charter and we will be in touch with you. If you have any questions before committing to the Charter do not hesitate to ask.
