SANCTION REGIMES, ARMS EMBARGOES AND RESTRICTIONS ON THE EXPORT OF STRATEGIC GOODS

Please click on the drop down menu below for a list by country and territory of sanctions regimes, arms embargoes and restrictions on the export of strategic goods implemented by the UK. These lists should be used in conjunction with the export control restrictions applying to all countries and measures against terrorists.

Where a country is not included in the list, please refer to the export control restrictions applying to all countries and measures against terrorists.

Every effort has been made to make the lists of UN, EU, OSCE and UK sanctions measures as complete as possible at the time of publication. However the lists should not be relied upon as comprehensive especially as measures are subject to change. Persons affected should seek their own legal advice.

Note:
The term ‘EU’ is used throughout although some of the measures listed were adopted before the entry into force of the Maastricht Treaty under the auspices of European Political Cooperation (EPC).
