Scottish Judicial Appointments

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointments of The Right Honourable Lord Cullen as Lord President of the Court of Session following the appointment of The Right Honourable The Lord Rodger of Earlsferry as a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary and The Honourable Lord Gill as Lord Justice Clerk in succession to Lord Cullen.

Notes for Editors

Lord Cullen was appointed a Judge of the Court of Session in 1986. He has been Lord Justice Clerk and President of the Second Division of the Court of Session since 1997. Lord Cullen, on appointment as Lord President, becomes also Lord Justice General.

Lord Gill was appointed a Judge of the Court of Session in 1994. He has been Chairman of the Scottish Law Commission since 1996.
