CONSULTATION ON RELIGION AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION AMENDMENT REGULATIONS

New equality legislation outlawing discrimination on grounds of Religion or Belief and Sexual Orientation in employment and vocational training came into force in December 2003.

The introduction of this legislation, The Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 and The Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003 is a major step towards tackling unfair discrimination.

We sought your views on draft regulations which complement these.

The Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and The Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003 (Amendment) Regulations 2003  outlaw discrimination and harassment on grounds of religion or belief and sexual orientation by trustees and managers of occupational pension schemes.

This consultation was launched on 15 September 2003 and ended on 10 October 2003.
