Interested in standards for services?
Business services are a vital part of the European economy, accounting for
some 70% of EU jobs. Yet businesses can often find choosing and comparing
service providers a struggle, owing to a lack of European standards. To raise
awareness of the potential of European standardisation for the service sector,
DG Enterprise is organising a workshop in Brussels on 9 March 2004. Participants
will discuss the latest policies on services and how European standards, similar
to those developed for products, can create a genuine internal market for
services. The workshop will be a good opportunity for stakeholders to voice
their ideas on the subject. Organisations representing companies which
extensively use or provide services are therefore particularly welcome. An
