Public Consultation document and accompanying Partial Regulatory Impact Assessment (247k)
The European Commission is proposing a Directive that will set a minimum level of harmonisation of the rules and administration across the European Union on the re-use and commercial exploitation of public sector information.

This consultation document and Partial Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) consider the ways in which we can ensure that the public sector in England, Wales and Northern Ireland complies with the measures set out in the draft Directive. Your input would be of assistance in formulating how the Directive can be implemented in the most effective manner.

The consultation document and RIA has been prepared jointly by DTI and Her Majesty's Stationery Office, which have been taking the policy lead for the UK on the proposed Directive. Responses and queries should be sent to either:
