The
Construction Research and Innovation Programme
The
DTI's Construction Innovation and Research Team (CIRT)
promotes research in support of innovation and improved
competitiveness, more sustainable construction and enhanced
standards of health and safety.
The
Construction Research and Innovation prospectus defines DTI priorities for research.
The programme encourages, through the Partners in Innovation (PiI)
Scheme, industrial participation in research.
Projects accepted for the scheme must meet the overall
policy aims of the programme and in return generally
recieve up to 50% funding from the DTI
The
Programme also includes work commissioned for the programme
through the Building Research Establishment under its
former framework agreement with the DTI (1997-2002)
or by competitive tender.
Significant
work is being undertaken to evaluate the construction
research programme. The aim is to assess value for money,
real world impact and barriers to the take up of innovation.
A progress note
is available together with more detailed findings of the completed evaluation studies into
the 2001/2002
Annual Report
The
Compendium of Projects Database
gives
details of programme projects, past and present.
