Missions
Best practice
in management techniques, developments in technology or science
can be appreciated best by seeing them in context. Missions
are a highly successful way to gain first-hand experience
of leading international businesses and research.
A small
group of British business people and a leading academic
spend a few days to two weeks overseas visiting industry
and relevant centres of expertise.
The
mission is supported and organised (sponsored) by a representative
body such as a Trade Association, University or Professional
Body. The sponsor promotes the findings and DTI pays travel
and some related organisational costs.
Organisations
across the UK benefit from the mission through the mission
team's report, seminar presentation and dissemination of
the findings.
Executive
summaries of mission reports are available on this website
as soon as they become available. Reports are also available
from the sponsoring bodies.
Most
business disciplines and markets are eligible for a mission..
