Abolition of North Sea Royalty: Consultation on Appropriate Timing

In his Budget speech on 17 April 2002, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced that the Government intends, subject to consultation on the appropriate timing, to abolish North Sea Royalty. DTI issued a consultation paper to interested parties (primarily, holders of petroleum production licences and their representative bodies).
